TEED – Florence, Wentworth, Cumb. Co., NS
Submitted by Carl Miller Jan-03

My name is Carl Miller of Moose Jaw, Sask. and being a descendant of the Teeds of the Wentworth area through my Mother, Florence Miller [nee; Teed] I am very interested in obtaining more of the Teed history. I am in possession of the “Daniel Teed- United Empire Loyalist” book which gives a fairly comprehensive history of the early Teeds in Cumperland County, but has many gaps in it. In your article i note that Teeds were brick manufacturers in Wentworth. I would appreciate hearing more about this ie. which Teed was involved etc. I enjoyed your article about the history of the Wentworth area and would like to see more of the same. I am afraid that some parts of local histories are long lost and forgotten which is a shame.

Hello! I have been trying to research my father’s family. My father was born on May 3, 1904 in Amherst Nova Scotia. My father was George Charles Todd, his father was George Flanners Todd, his mother was Margaret I. Steeves. My father had a brother Ralph Murray Todd who died in Saint John, New Brunswick on November 22, 1931 and a sister Sarah Todd who died in Saint John, New Brunswick February 13, 1938. I believe all three children were born in Amherst, Nova Scotia.

My great grandfather was George Sheppard Todd.

I hope I am contacting the right person to help me find some information on my father.

thanking you in advance

TRENHOLM – Sarah Rhoda, b. 1862, d. 1908, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia & New York
Submitted by Valerie B. Williams June 2018

Greetings. I’m trying to find more information about my great-grandmother, Sarah Rhoda Trenholm 1862 to 1908. Her parents were William Wells Trenholm 1836 to 1902 and Cynthia Ann Allen 1835 to 1918. Sarah married Robert Foote Minto who was from St John’s Newfoundland. In 1885 they immigrated to New York and also had their first child. I’m trying to find if there any records of their marriage, or any information that would help me understand how someone from Nova Scotia met and married someone from Newfoundland! Unfortunately both Sarah and Robert died relatively young and I know that at least a couple of their children went back to Nova Scotia for several years. Any information regarding that would also be appreciated. I will be visiting Sackville on August 1st, so any recommendations of where I should go to try to find this information would be greatly appreciated.
