The Death Record Books contain information transcribed from original documents that were sent to the NS Department of Vital Statistics between 1909 and 1963 for Amherst, NS and area.
As access is being restricted to these fragile documents in order to preserve them for future generations, CCGS has created this publication. The CD contains an index of all entries including surname, given name, full date of death, age, status, where born, place of residence or death, where buried, undertaker as well as a link to the digital image of the Death Records Book page. Comments have been added to reflect conflicting data found through additional research.
The image could include: sex, occupation, father’s name, husband’s name, cause of death, race, attending physician, name of person making the return, date of return and registrar.
This item is also available in book format.
